This is a great one. An old one but pretty amazing. Where height is quite relevant.

yes seems to be clad up to 10th steel section?
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3435/...269001f8_o.jpg

fury/ember-if you count steel section for having 20 actual levels of 6.4m each, would top /tier 24 be 180th floor?
i thought there was 20 steel sectiosn thus total 182 floors?

Hi all.

Hey Cul.

The steel starts at level 156 - the first level of tier 16. So the last named level (160 mezz 3) is the 7th 6.4m. steel section.

The first level/section of tier 18 is the 162nd level - the last named level - Level 160 mezz. 3. This is from the Ground level as per the plans and does not include the lower levels - Raft, B2, B1, and Concourse.

160
Less 4 skipped - 41, 74, 110, and 137
Plus 6 - Ground, 155 mezz, 158 mezz, 160 mezz 1, 160 mezz 2, and 160 mezz 3.
= 162.

Above this there are 17 - 6.4m. sections to 23B (the top of tier 23).

Remember where the tiers are marked in your diagram are the start of the tier which is correct. Tier 30 is marked at the start as the top of tier 30 is the top of the structure.

Great diagram Cul - the evolution from your first has been great to watch - I have them all saved - Thanks bud.

Here is the first one I have from 06 08 01 ...

thanks fury. that one from june 06 looks classic. its been great watching it grow over past few years.it will be sad come septemeber. dont know when we will have a taller tower./
the next i shall watch with this amount of detail will be shanghais tower.

so if you add the 17 steel levels to 162 that equates to 179 actual floors in Burj Dubia?
anyway amended diagram with shanghais towers ob deck included.

For the same reasons you said, I choose Shanghai Tower as the most sexy and beautiful skyscraper in the world.

For the same reason? Shanghai Tower is not a 150 meter short tower like the boring one he posted.

In Al Hamras defense, it is very cool tower and it's over 400 meters to (Not 150) - much cooler than the average, but still it can't compete with Burjs lovely pyramid-steps-shape. It's close to perfect in an aestetic sense. Imo. it would be the coolest looking tower in the world even if it was half the height (and with naturally). Cheers for Burj! I'm going to see Dubai sometime after september, that's for sure!

Pics from today.

Progress on the rail things, bigger sand filters now in use on the lake (quite a bit of sand dumped in the lake from this week's storms - previous filters were S500's, new ones are S800's. No doubt that means something to someone!), graphics now up on the side of Dubai Mall, and some weird goings on on The Address side (I'm guessing this has something to do with the Renault F1 event coming up shortly).

Just snaps from the SX1-IS today (some of the below pics are just RAW files that Picassa seems to have processed automatically on upload, so apologies for the poor quality). Next week comes the 5D Mk II and a Tilt-Shift lens

Thanks for the update.

It looks like they could be erecting a stage near The Address.
Imagine what it will look like: Fast cars "floating" on water, with the most spectacular fountain and building in the world as a backdrop....
