It is certainly photoshoped and it's certainly my new desktop background.
Lol when I click on it, it says goodbye dubai, and dark clouds and stuff. Something to do with credit crunch? Someone pessimistic or something. Or just someone traveling and leaving Dubai.

And remove those onenike posts please mods...

I think it was a simple "wave goodbye" to Dubai, in the traveling sense and not the Economic Doomsday sense. Nice pic, photoshopped or not.

Great picture! But as buildmilehightower already said, how can this pic possibly not be photoshopped? A camera can only over- or underexpose. Then its either too dark or too white. There's no way to just take a picture like this. I reckon much HDR effort has been put into it or at least a lot of changes to contrast and saturation. Not that I want to put it down, setting this up requires quite some experience with the software and still it takes alot of effort on the computer to come up with something brilliant like this

Thats what I thought, I have also seen bags of DEWA fertilizer. Even though the thought made me feel a little ill. All the Springs/Meadows development lakes are basically treated brown water too.

Water in london is likely to be many times before.

If it comes to supertalls or even taller then 200 meters yes, otherwise is far from it.

Yeah, you're right. Dubai is not even close, just a bunch of tall skyscrapers along a highway. BTW awesome pic XD.

I think Dubai's density will increase over time, providing development continues post-economic meltdown. It's true though that the skyline looks quite stark as a strip of skyscrapers.

Dubai has the potential to have the best skyline in the world although areas such as Shanghai and many other chinese cities still have some space to fit some nice buildings in.
But the American cities are pretty much stalled; the new WTC towers in NY are coming up where old ones were and Chicago found an obscure area for its spire.
I think that if Americans want to be in the competition, they should learn from dubai and build cities from scratch although, US is not an oil rich nation so that could be a problem.

And to think that in the upcoming years, the Burj Dubai will almost be nothing compared to all these new supertalls that are going to be built. (Well, maybe not almost nothing, but smaller)
