[Egerszalók] Spa and Wellness Bath

Only 6 kilometres away from Eger in Egerszalók the Spa and Wellness Bath is expecting its guests from the end of 2006 in a natural environment unmatched in Europe. The natural water running down from the hillside formed a special strip limestone formation. Built at the foot of this formation are the bath’s many sided and high quality thermal and wellness services are genuinely unique for this region. In the facility, with 1900 m2 of water surface area there are altogether 16 open air and indoor swimming pools - sedentary pools with thermal water, bubble bath, theme pools, water-chute and children's pools, all of which provide a pleasant time for the young and the elderly as well. In the therapeutic unit the high quality calcium-magnesium-hydrogen-carbonate thermal water and the well-trained staff ensure the efficiency of the therapies, whilst in the wellness centre our guests are offered complete personal refreshment and rejuvenation in the exclusive sauna system, indulging baths and special massages.

The whole development stoped more than a year ago... Someone stole 800 million HUF (3,26 EUR)governmental fund... Almost nothing is happening there. The whole project is late by two years or so... BTW. The Investor company is known to be very close to our ex-prime minister.

Egerszalok

I just come back from Northen Hungary. Very nice indeed, but the region it looks a little poor than the rest of the country. I visit Hungary 2 or 3 times per year, and I like it very much.
I heard that the Egerszalok complex will be finished by the end of 2008, but I don't think so cause I was there and no one seems to work.
I saw that they prepare the hill for 3 more "calcar phenomena" if I'm not wrong. The complex is impressive but unfinish and the panorama is very depressing...
I was in Miskolctapolca too. By the way, any one Knows if the cave system will be extended?
Any new thermal project in HUngary? If anyone knows some sites about new development, please post it...

Actually,Borsod and Szabolcs counties(the 2 most eastern) are the poorest in Hungary. Miskolc was hit very hard after the fall of the bloc, because of the cutbacks at DAM(Diósgyőri Acél Művek-Diósgyőr Steel Industries),and the city is still trying to recover. My godparents actually work there.

You mean the underground bath? I think thats natural,so I believe it wont be extended.

BTW,welcome to the forum!

Egerszalok

The calcar that is on yhe hill comes from the water they found 30 years ago.... So it's not so natural due to its provience. If they didn't dig for oil the water will never reach up the ground level, so the formation didn't exist.
I will post a picture later and you could see the 3 more terases that are preperad for this project (calcar deposit)
Very nice but I wish they will move faster.
The county are poor like the south Romanian county, but still more civilize.
Do you know about any new project in that area?

Sorry ... you are talking about the cave system. Stupid me...
I know that is natural, but I saw a map and there are more tunels in that area.
I thought that with the time, they will increase the capacity of the bath by added the new tunnels in the system.
