So sorry for the late reply bai, that was Meiji Shrine, which is also attached to the more open Yoyogi Park.

--- If I may, here are some pics I took: Looking back at the entrance, you'll see your last glimpse of the city. image hosted on flickr ![]() DSC_0857 by jborlongan, on Flickr Walking towards the shrine, it was so peaceful. image hosted on flickr ![]() DSC_0858 by jborlongan, on Flickr Finally, you enter the main shrine. An expansive, well-maintained shrine to the old Emperor. image hosted on flickr ![]() DSC_0889 by jborlongan, on Flickr This is a board where people hang ema, little wood plaques that people can buy from the shrine and write their wishes and thoughts. I believe there is a ritual to burn the ema because it shouldn't be thrown away like garbage. image hosted on flickr ![]() DSC_0892 by jborlongan, on Flickr Looking back at the expansive main court. image hosted on flickr ![]() DSC_0910 by jborlongan, on Flickr --- The story of the Meiji shrine is described in a series of boards alone the path to the shrine. It basically tells the story of Meiji and why he was so beloved by the Japanese people, enough to collect different species of trees from all over the Japanese archipelago to create an artificial forrest in the middle of Tokyo. I hope the Philippines can gain some inspiration from it! P.S. Sorry for sort of hijacking your thread bakasaurus, I can remove the pics if you want. Your pics of the Meiji shrine just made me a little nostalgic. ![]() P.P.S. And I love your pics! What kind of camera and lenses do you use? One last question: what is that riverside landscaped park in Iloilo? It's beautiful.

Thanks bai! By all means you can hijack my thread every now and then haha.
Thanks for sharing your photos here. I love them and their rainy and misty mood. Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park just beside it, and then contrasted with the hyper cosplayers of Harajuku just nearby are a must stop when one visits Tokyo. Re camera and gear: Old 2008 Canon EOS 500D (Kiss X3 in Japan). Tamron telephoto zoom lens 18-270mm and the Canon 40mm pancake prime lens. Extra wide pics (with almost fish-eye effects) were taken with GoPro HD Hero 2. Lastly, the lovely riverside park is Iloilo's The Esplanade...

Thanks! I didn't go to Harajuku, I came by Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park via the Omotesando station and avenue (which itself is another treasure of beautiful architecture!). I must check out Harajuku next time. I also want to visit Iloilo! One of Philippines great cities no doubt.
