SAHAR HOTEL, MUMBAI

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

Our client is planning a 120,000 sq m five-star hotel, retail and office development immediately adjacent to India's busiest aviation hub – the recently re-named Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (formerly Sahar International Airport).

Current designs include two towers, one for the hotel and the other to accommodate offices. Quality retail outlets will occupy the entire ground level while a double basement provides space for car parking and plant. The commercial wing of the development is designed with longer spans and greater floor-to-floor heights than for hotel structure. Throughout, the standard of finish will be extremely high.

Flexibility has been an important driver at concept design stage, as is the need for a building that can be constructed on a fast track programme. We are supporting the client’s decisions with a full range of structural options.

This is going to be the SECOND JW MARRIOTT in Mumbai. And mumbai will be the only city in india with 2 JW Marriotts( the ultra luxury brand of Marriott group of hotels).

#thanx IU for the info

5 star hotels to open in the next couple of years

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/North-Mumbai-is-the-new-boomtown-for-hotel-business/articleshow/23430821.cms

Swissotel, with 300 rooms, located on the Andheri-Kurla road, will roll out the carpet for guests in 2014. Similarly, Conrad, with 200 rooms in Juhu, is scheduled to open next year. And the 200-room Crowne Plaza is slated to open doors soon, reinforcing the growing trend of action shifting from south Mumbai to north Mumbai.
Can someone check on the status of these hotels?
