Finally a video showing relatively recent state of construction. This is quite a large project. If the Nigerian economy wasn't in such bad shape right now, we would have more projects of this caliber under-construction in EAC

Is this the first steel framed skyscraper in Lagos? I Dont think I've seen a Steel frame building at all in Lagos, only Concrete.

Chelsea Hotel (mid-rise) is steel, there are some other smaller structures that are steel.

As far as high rises go, well this may very well be the first.

I partially understand as Dangote is a major concrete company. But I hope that the steel is also locally produced. Nigeria needs to boost it's economic ecosystem.

It will happen, it's just a matter of when. Whoever gets into steel at the time that it kicks off will be a Billionaire. Right now Egypt and South Africa are stronger markets, but Nigeria is a logical place for steel to expand (pun intended). We have the Iron Ore Deposits, the main issue is the logistics and energy.

but it's definitely an industry to watch. Many of the challenges that Steel importers complain about now, Cement importers complained about 15,20 years ago. Steel is a complex industry, but eventually it will come together.
