22 Thames St. Deconstruction Brings Road Closure
http://www.lowermanhattan.info/news/...ion_55508.aspx

"As of Monday, April 15th, Thames Street is fully closed to all traffic between Trinity Place and Greenwich Street to allow for deconstruction of the 113-year-old, 10-story brick building at 22 Thames Street. The demolition is expected to continue for approximately four months, through late July 2013"

I have to get there and make a few pictures before they get rid of this building. Maybe tomorrow I will make a trip downtown.

Sorry, but these developers are pigs. I don't normally say that but this building is gorgeous. It is one of the most beautiful buildings downtown. How it isn't landmarked is beyond me.

As promised I went to see the 22 Thames St building. It is a very nice example of brick building. Especially the top
with rounded brick windows and crenelations looks nice - not that many modern buildings have these kind of details. I will be sorry
to see it go, but...

The building certainly has some baroque elements in its style. I really love it as well. Thanks for the pics.

Very sad. I can see it being replaced by a boring glass box.

This glass box isn't so boring. I find it rather unique. Anyway, downtown needs more highrases/ skyscrapers/ supertalls

the building is OK. I don't think the glass box will be boring here. Downtown could use some serious modernization.

Thanks for sharing pics John Flint! It's nice to see what will be razed.
