Actually during my recent trip to Singapore I saw them hang clothes outside their flats too (there were not many balconies) but at least their flats are clean/nicely painted and not like here where they like to throw rubbish down.

I really hope more green and open spaces are provided by Greater KL malls, like this, especially older malls like MidValley and KLCC to utilise their large roofs. DBKL already not providing much green spaces for ppl yet the private developers don't do much until very recently. Also KL's malls need more unique attractions, like theme parks, nice water fountains, slides etc. not just boring and bland retailers and restaurants in every mall. This can really pull a lot of crowd to a mall, the reason why malls like Berjaya Times Square is surviving.

If all the budget flat can be managed like those in putra jaya which they paint the faced everyyear.. It would be so much better.. Some of the flat in setiawangsa, serdang, gombak never paint for 20 years .. So kesian to live there

Most of those Apartments that need facelift are usually leased to immigrants. Those kind of people don't appreciate common amenities that is provided.Rowdy kids and vandalist also makes an eyesore.Try seeing flats in hulu klang(Flat Ridhwan,Flat seksyen 5 Wangsa Maju
)that have substantial immigrant population and compare those to apartments in Putrajaya and Singapore

From Old Flat to Medium End Condo. who will protest???

Kg Kerinchi flat owners to go home in two years

11-Sept-2012

THE redevelopment of the four-storey flats in Kampung Kerinchi will be completed in two years.

Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said the developer Suez Domain Sdn Bhd would begin piling work next month.

"The developer has given its word that the project will begin next month and is on schedule.

"It also will build a show house, so that the 467 flat owners can see how their new homes will look upon completion," he said.

In the meantime, the flat owners would be housed at People Housing Project (PPR) units in Kerinchi, Cempaka and Muhibbah.

Raja Nong Chik said the redevelopment project, which was a joint venture between the ministry, developer and the residents, was a pioneer project.

"The residents chose the project developer through open vote, with the ministry acting as moderator.

"We will apply the same process for redevelopment projects in the future," he said at the residents' Hari Raya open house.

Upon completion of the redevelopment project, each flat owner will receive a 85sq m unit with three bedrooms, two toilets, a balcony and a drying yard.
