I'm watching Steaua play Brasov right now. I know SB are a big club, but the attendances are still impressive against such teams. Stadium looks almost full. Though the pitch around the goal areas looks like a baseball diamond.

No offence to other teams from Romania, but this club is on another level. They would add a lot to the Champions League, in ways that Otelul Galati, Unirea or Cluj couldn't.

^ It's because it's the match to celebrate the title win (first in seven years I think).

But yeah, the combination of Steaua and a big modern stadium is a match made in heaven, the only other thing needed is a viable sporting project (which is a big unknown for the moment as the club owner has just been jailed, as you may know).

I wasn't aware of that. Its unfortunate. Hope it doesn't derail their CL qualification plans.

I'm being selfish and anti-competition but I hope that Steaua can continue to use their natural advantage now with the new stadium (even if they dont own it) to win titles every year.

There were 50k and couple hundreds,so pretty much full.
The fact that the owner is in jail doens't matter,actually its better for the team.
If the club enters the CL group stage(and cosnidering their opponents they will),then there will be no problem.
And yes SB are big favourites for the title,if they buy 2-3 players of decent quality they will smash the league again.

Steaua FC - Brasov FC 4-0 (last game of the season, the trophy ceremony). Steaua won their 24th title as champions.
