I don't think they plan to widen Sta Monica St as there is no more space. They plan an underpass and overpass instead

Quote:
Phase I/B (Sta. Monica to Meralco Avenue Underpass/Viaduct'At-Grade).
Construction of a 1,490-rn, 2-lane north bound underpass from Sta. Monica St. to West Capitol Drive crossing Shaw Boulevard and terminating at
Meralco Avenue; and the construction of a 600-rn, 2-lane south bound viaduct from Meralco Avenue across Shaw Boulevard and terminating at
United Avenue; and an 890-rn, 2-lane atgrade road facility from United Avenue to Sta. Monica. This phase has a cost of PHP2,927.2 million.

Any update on this project after July 2017 groundbreaking?

I pass by Lawton-Kalayaan area and I dont notice anything. I dont know about the bridge part if it has started.

They should simultaneously do the bridge and viaduct, underpass portion, otherwise the golden age of infrastructure is nothing to brag about.

Video with perspectives of real estate developers,
but still helpful in understanding how the Sta. Monica Bridge
would ease traffic in EDSA Guadalupe Bridge.

I agree to an extent but those DMCI projects being sold out has little to do with the bridge and more to do with the sheer demand driven by other factors. For example those in Sheridan or Brixton, those are close to the Ortigas Centre (which only have ONE residential project, Westin Sonata vs 10 huge office projects within itself) and the Pioneer area which has mushroomed and gentrified thanks to Robinson's Cybergate and other BPO centers. That said, this bridge would be a huge bonus to Sheridan and Brixton owners since they can now go to Timmy's in 12 minutes...este access BGC fairly easily in addition to Ortigas and Pioneer...

It will improve a little bit for a while, eventually it will revert to the same as everything will Equilibrate back to normal which is an overcrowded city with too many people.

Yeah and I think they have one in Eastwood too. But alas, still NOTHING in Ortigas Centre! Not even in nearby heavy traffic Capitol Commons...
