Maybe Upper Westlake? Westlake-on-the-Lake? WeFreToCer? Upper Dexter?
How bout the Dexter Neighborhood?

I've been thinking of it as "Westlake," but it's true that can be confusing with the other Westlake. Even though the street has its name because its on the west side of Lake Union...

I suppose you could just be more specific and call it "West Lake Union." I also like Dexter.

Now that's funny right there.

Mercer and Westlake Project:

Crane stump is in place. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like there will be only one (placed in the center of the lot). Strange as a project this size I thought would warrant a couple.

Here's the latest for 307 Fairview(the Troy Laundry block). It's an odd marriage of old and new that doesn't quite work as well as the Amazon block that includes the Bravehorse/Cuoco stand-alone structure:

Should also have something on 400 Fairview any day now.

I noticed yesterday there was a drill truck working in the parking lot of the Seattle Times building on Fairview. I assume that would be for soil samples?

307 Fairview looks great. Its one of those projects that looks better and better as it progresses.

Sharing a gramps memory. When I worked in accounting (ugh) I had to reconcile the Troy Laundry bill with the invoices and our counts. 4 trillion sheets out, 3 trillion back, etc. Not surprisingly, the paperwork was ratty by the time I got it: wet, torn, stapled, taped, carts ran over, coffee spilled on, you name it, and that put a permanent image of Troy in my head. Nice to see part of the old building will be with us forever.

Hey. Noticed a big pour over at the Mercer/Westlake Project (wish we had a better name for that). May have been the base slab.

This is a real gem if you've walked by. And on a prime corner! Gary Manuel Salon is open for biz:

Busy morning in my 'hood!

Here's the latest (as promised) on 400 Fairview:

http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/AppDocs/G...endaID4353.pdf

I'm really liking the Marketplace part of this project. Hope it anchors a new type of retail along Fairview. Too busy of a street (IMO) to put a bunch of sidewalk cafes. Maybe some clothing stores or something. Ideas?

I've been using the street address for my Flickr folder - 500 9th Avenue.

Now that's sexy.

re: 400 Fairview design update.

FINALLY - someone who "gets" pedestrian porosity - in a major way! Let pedestrians meander right into the building. Awesome. I will frequent, when it's done.
