The details aren't clear yet but the Help To Buy scheme won't be open to foreigners:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/c...e-happier.html

Quote:
This week’s Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors survey showed the highest level of new house buyer enquiries for three years, while the Council for Mortgage Lenders’ figures were equally upbeat. Directing subsidised credit towards the housing market, as the Help to Buy and Funding for Lending Schemes are doing, is an absurd, reckless policy which suggests Osborne has learnt nothing from the sub-prime crash.
The Heygate Estate is where they filmed Attack The Block and Harry Brown,

the latter a dreadful film. With one-beds at £300k it's more likely that the flats will be bought by second-rung purchasers, or speculative buy-to-letters, who also qualify for Osborne's insane scheme. It's basically inflating the market, stoking demand and doing nothing about supply. Let's face it, any political party that proposed mass house-building schemes that would employ thousands but deflate prices would face electoral wipe-out. Osborne's craven injection of easy money is basically a bribe.

Harry Brown was great. I personally wasn't too keen on Attack the Block.

I second the support for Harry Brown!

I third that! Harry Brown is probably the best British film I've seen in the past five years.

Harry Brown was woeful, a Daily Mail reader's revenge fantasy that made no sense. Michael Caine was the only good thing about it.

Harry Brown is a great film, a modern classic, hope there is a sequel.... I think you are in a minority of 'one' there Spindrift.
