Stonehenge Visitor Centre tops out: Scheme to finish in summer 2014

Denton Corker Marshall’s Stonehenge Visitor Centre has topped out.

The canopy roof was completed with the last piece of steel welded onto the structure.

Two pods, both now in the latter stages of construction, sit under the canopy roof, and will house a cafe, shop and education space as well as exhibition galleries, membership area and toilets.

Steve Quinlan, partner at Denton Corker Marshall, said: “We are really enjoying this stage of project, with the various pieces of the puzzle coming together and our vision finally starting to come to life. This project has been a great challenge, but a very rewarding one.”

English Heritage said the project is progressing on time and on budget.

The project is due to finish in summer 2014.
