It's pretty dumb that architects don't even consider space for a microwave! Every kitchen no matter how much money you have, has one.

Thanks for the input, but as with all other apartments project, all internal apartment fitout (eg. kitchen joinery & equipment, bathroom vanity etc) is all being driven by the developer. Developer provide the apartment layout, kitchen joinery design and finishes etc.

And being a D&C building procurement for this project, it is very common for the both the developer and builder to change some internal finishes, layout etc. without going through the architects for sign-off. The most notable changes (without the architect consent) will be the frosted glass to the podium, spa wall-tiles finish, deletion of plantings to the front entry disabled ramp.

You could possibly put the microwave to the right of the hob if you place it on a box/stand of some sort. That way it will clear the hob and flames.

I've never had a microwave in my kitchen. Nor did my parents.

Unusual.

Proving its status as a heavily relied on appliance in Australian kitchens, Canstar Blue research conducted in 2013 shows that 96% of Australian households own at least one microwave.

I use my microwave all the time and would have to totally change my diet if I didn't have one.

I haven't had a microwave for about 15 years. I thought I wouldn't be able to live without one (how would I ever cook Porridge or heat up leftovers or a cup of water?) then I moved house and didn't have one, and realised you dont actually need it. You can the exact same, but better, with a stove top, kettle and oven, which are pretty much mandatory appliances.

That's the exact thing we've purchased, along with the smallest microwave that Myer sold and had stock of in the Myer Centre. It works, but the kitchen loses some of it's aesthetic:

Yeah, we're a family of 4 and we haven't bothered with one for 6 years.

I took some shots of Abian at dusk today and seeing in person for the first time it was so incredibly stunning. I was enchanted Apart from the general blue colour, it had a gorgeous purple hue in the fading light as well, which you guys have no doubt noticed, but doesn't really come across in my photos. The combination of great quality glass and curved facade definately make this a truely outstanding tower.
