Santo Tirso ganha escola profissional de hotelaria


Está a ser construída uma Escola Profissional de Hotelaria em Santo Tirso que deverá abrir já em Setembro. A unidade pertence à Escola Profissional e Agrícola Conde São Bento, em Santo Tirso, e insere-se no programa de requalificação das margens do Rio Ave, que contempla a reabilitação dos Edifícios da Quinta de Fora do Mosteiro de S. Bento, explica Teresa Diogo, directora da escola. O projecto resulta de um investimento de 1,6 milhões de euros e as obras arrancaram no final do ano passado. A antiga casa da eira vai ser transformada em centro de educação ambiental, com pequeno auditório e sala de exposições, ao passo que, a casa do caseiro vai receber a escola profissional de hotelaria. “A ideia é que os dois espaços funcionem em complemento”, revela a responsável.

A Escola Profissional e Agrícola Conde São Bento já leccionava os cursos de Nível IV de Restauração, variante Restaurante/Bar e Turismo Ambiental e Espaço Rural. Com a abertura da nova escola, os cursos serão transferidos para as novas instalações.

Grande perda para a cidade de Santo Tirso. Grande burro aquele que deixou que tal edifício fosse destruído para deixar lugar à bela merda que está lá agora. Enfim...
