Good morning! Just informing all Mindanao forumers that a heads up will be provided publicly (a posted msg) before I will delete any of your posts that are deemed to be misunderstood by others.

However, dont expect that I will pm you. As mature individuals and coming from an online group with an average membership tenure of atleast a year, you should know by now what innuendos and cvc posts are.

Advising MM17 to do the same thing, to avoid allegations that posts are being deleted for no reasons at all. If such posts were deleted in the past, that is because either Mike or I perceived such posts as a possible cause of another cvc.

If commitment from mods are what you're asking in the Forum Issues thread, then from here on, stringent and committed implementation of the rules is what you will get.

Alsons set to restart Iligan diesel power plant

Alsons Consolidated Resources Inc. of the Alcantara Group is set to deliver 15 megawatts from the 102-MW Iligan diesel power plant within the month to help augment the electricity supply in Mindanao.

Alsons executive vice president Tirso Santillan Jr. said Alsons had taken over the operations of the Iligan diesel plant from the Iligan City local government after the Commission on Audit cleared the transaction.

“It will take six months to have the full 97 MW. First 15 MW within the month,” Santillan said.

He said Alsons needed around P1.2 billion for the acquisition, operation and rehabilitation of the diesel plant.

“About P850 million [will be financed] from debt and balance is equity,” Santillan said.

Alsons’s subsidiary Mapalad Power Corp. earlier signed an agreement with Iligan City to acquire the facility for P300 million.

Iligan City took control of the diesel power plant after a tax dispute with National Power Corp., which had owned the facility.

Santillan earlier said Alsons would need to spend around P650 million for the rehabilitation of the power plant. The plant’s capacity had steadily deteriorated from 105 MW to as low as 30 MW in 2010.

“When we visited it [plant] later, the roof had holes, there was corrosion. There were parts that were lost to thieves. We estimate it will cost us P650 million to make it whole again,” Santillan said.

“The P650 million is only for the rehabilitation. There is an operational requirement. Napocor previously supplied fuel to the plant, now we have to supply the fuel. There will also be [financing] interest during construction because we will finance it with equity and loan. Total project cost is P1.2 billion,” he said.

President Benigno Aquino III had pushed for the repowering of the Iligan diesel plant as one of the immediate solutions to the Mindanao power shortage.

The Mindanao Power Monitoring Committee led by the Mindanao Development Authority and co-chaired by the Energy Department earlier said the Iligan diesel plant capacity had already been fully contracted by electric cooperatives serving the cities of General Santos, Zamboanga and Iligan, which are experiencing rotating brownouts.
