On a 1st glance, BLR numbers seemed lesser. But, when you think about the ATR capacity and the odd timings with higher fares, this route must be a good revenue generator for 9W.

It's a curse that we always get mid-day timings for the BLR flights. Hope 6E or someone will hit the jackpot with right timings.

HYD, BOM and DEL have shown tremendous success with their respective non stop flights out of IXM. BLR shouldn't be left behind forever.

IMO, It's probably yielding just enough to keep the route going year round. And the afternoon slot is just right for airlines. That could also be the reason why SG is also choosing an afternoon (non-peak hour) slot for the route.

IMO, It's probably yielding just enough to keep the route going year round. And the afternoon slot is just right for airlines. That could also be the reason why SG is also choosing an afternoon (non-peak hour) slot for the route.


Anything above 40 pax in general on 9W ATR’s gives it profits. And for a monopoly of IXM BLR, it’s almost surely doing well

It's a 66 seater, not 72. As I already mentioned, the fares are high on this sector, in the 4K+ range and not the 1.5 to 2K range we see on similar distance but competitive rates. I didn't say it's a great load, but only said it's a good revenue generator with 71% occupancy.

Do any one have any idea about how the ixm delhi and singapore performing? on most of the days the delhi flight is expensive than the singapore flight . does it mean that delhi flight is performing better than singapore flight ??
To our surprise, yes it is. Day before yesterday, IXM-DEL had 154 pax

I had full confidence the flight would do very well in a daily service itself the day it was announced.
Apart from the people travelling related to business , I think the North Indians who take the devotional trip to rameswaram thru Madurai and returning back after visiting places like kanyakumari have contributed to good patronage .

SpiceJet to start BLR-IXM-BLR from Oct 4.

SG 3467 BLR 1115 - 1230 DH4
SG 3468 IXM 1250 - 1405 DH4
This flight may not be continued in winter. SG is asked to change the timing as the apron is already very much congested in noon. That's the reason why winter booking is not yet opened. Will SG convince the authorities to have this flight with the same timing or will they change the timing or will they scrap it altogether, Let's wait and see.
Anyhow, this flight is only temporary due to the Chandigarh runway closure. The entire rotation of MAA-IXG-BLR-IXM-BLR-CJB-BLR-IXG-MAA is temporary. So SG can at most swap BLR-CJB and BLR-IXM schedules.
You have guessed it right. SG has swapped BLR-CJB schedule with BLR-IXM and opened booking for winter.
