I appreciate what you said sir.. their are some pricks in the forum who captures all negatives without understanding the true meaning of the posts..... People like them are the real reason of the pathetic state of the railways in Kerala. No true vision just living in pseudo realities........
That said I will not further pollute this thread by talking to the real SCAMMERS......

It's apt time diesel loco shed in ERS to be converted to Electric...
The employees there are opposing this because there would be a reduction in number of jobs.....

This is the problem with certain local kooli union leaders located in the ERS diesel shed. High time the loco shed should be shifted to Kollam and Mangalore. There is no point in keeping the electric loco shed at ERS. Now the electric trains will be plying all the way from Cape towards Mangalore. It should be situated in a ideal location.

I think within another 7-8 years a very few section of southern railway will only be running on Diesel Loco . I dont find any reason for keeping such loco sheds in most Rs which currently have this one .

Both diesel sheds in ERD and GOC is more than enough to cater whole of southern railway. ERS loco shed's engines are mainly used in konkan region, so SR should move the diesel shed to MAJN or MAQ and convert ERS diesel shed to electric loco shed. Since ERS is located in central kerala, i think it is an apt location for electric shed.

Most, if not all, Loco Sheds are going to become Mixed sheds, whether trade unions like it or not. Erode will get some Diesels, while ERS and GOC will get AC locos.

Diesels will continue to operate on at least 25 per cent of SR routes.

Policy of Rlys is to operate 25 to 40 per cent Diesel on most routes.

No new sheds will come up ... nor will existing sheds be closed down.

Also, we need to expand the MEMU shed at Palghat urgently.

TEN-HAPA to Jamnagar is only 08 kms extension to the City terminus.

It is to be welcomed by one and all.

And both these cities are Municipal Corporations too.
I'm not against installing wi-fi at Kollam station. But surprised how they omitted Kannur from the list.
P.K. Shrimathi ! it your turn now

Correction: Kollam is ahead of Kannur in terms of number of passengers. You are right about the revenue part.

Kollam passengers: 23350 Avg.
Kannur passengers: 19894 Avg.

Kollam revenue: 56.27 (2014-15)
Kannur revenue: 62.91(2014-15)

I think Kannur would be next in the line followed by Ernakulam town, Kottayam, Aluva.......

SR will move both the things to MAJN and QLN. That central location is a old story now.

Konext, what is the source. How you are comparing a small town like Aluva with ERS.
