New main train station for Brno!

Czech Rep.'s second city, Brno, will get a new train facility by 2015.

A lot more info is available here. Awesome site, by the way, especially for cities which will be undertaking similar projects in the future, like Belgrade.

Nice... I like the little highrise... maybe Sarajevo could incorporate something like that for it's station at Marijin dvor.

Pre-qualification tender for Prokop is going to be announced next week.

Prokop is supposed to be something like this except on a much much larger scale. Just on top of the platform, they're supposed to build at least 120000 square metres of office space and when the Sava Ampitheatre is cleared, it's supposed to be the most expensive land in Europe.

It looks OK to me. It lacks a bit of creativity imo. But as I said. it's totally OK

I don't know... Looks too greyish, too communistic. Especially by 2015. I would't be happy if it would be build in my city. I like the bridge-idea of the building, though.

I'd say it's moderate.
In my opinion Brno deserves something more spectacular.
After all it's one of the most beautiful cities in Central Europe.

That station reminds me of Ljubljana's PCL (Potniški Center Ljubljana), a new train/bus(/metro/tram maybe aswell) station planned..

Here's what it looks like: http://www.arhiforum.com/natecaji/lj_PCL_2/pcl_1.htm

this project is very mediocre and it will age very quickly
in next 10 years (or sooner) you will dislike it (of course it is only my supposition)
please don't build this

Why only 2015? It shouldn't take that long to build it

Anyway, I share the scepticism. Looks pretty ordinary, I would add some kitch to it

Looks ok, but could be a bit better, would've been better if it was built underground or something.

I just noticed, it looks like the first proposal for Kyivs Darnutsky Railway Station, which was rejected.

Do you know when the Prokop project will be finished?
BTW That station looks very nice.

Don't like the design of the tower that much. Of course if they use quality materials (esp. in cladding) it can look quite good.
