May 8, 2012
BoltBus to serve Seattle-Portland http://www.djc.com/news/bu/12040725.html?cgi=yes SEATTLE (AP) — A low-cost intercity bus service that began four years ago on the East Coast plans to start a Seattle-Portland route on May 17. BoltBus has no stations, baggage handlers or ticket agents. The black and red buses do offer Wi-Fi and places to plug in laptops.

RE: Boltbus - having no stations is kind of interesting. With 4 departures from the ID in Seattle between 8:30am and 6pm it seems like a couple of coffee shops or restaurants should get some business. I suspect travelers can use the restrooms in Union Station if they want. Maybe Boltbus has solved part of the Greyhound station dilemma by locating at the city's main transit hub AND not having a building.

Used the BoltBus a couple times between DC and NYC. It's a cheap and easy way to get from A to B.

Amtrak is often booked solid on this route, so it's much needed.
