Worlds fastest steam train: 126mph!

Also the best looking steam train ever to be build. Steampunk all the way and build in 1937.
They have an owl class: Class A4 steam locomotives. Search them down they look absolutely stunning!

A Taurus loco at the railwaystation in Linköping, Sweden. These locos are not very common, this is a so called "snow train" to the north.

The video is taken today Dec 8th.

SHANGHAI, CHINA - DECEMBER 28: (MAINLAND Technicians check a CRH high-speed train at Shanghai Hongqiao High-speed train base on December 28, 2011 in Shanghai, China. China's railway stations have started today to sell tickets for the 2012 Spring Festival travel season scheduled to run between January 8th and February 16th, centred around the Chinese New Year which this year falls on January 23rd. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has reported that it anticipates an increase of up to 9.1 percent on the numbers of passengers who traveled during the 2011 Spring Festival period, forecasting that the total number of passengers traveling could reach 3.2 billion. The upturn is recognized in part due to the growth of economic opportunities and educational reforms in China in recent years, resulting in increasing numbers of migrant workers and students seeking to return home to celebrate the New Year with families.

Sorry, I did not know there was a difference. Really I did not. In my itty bitty brain if it pushes or pulls a train.. it's a locomotive.

A multiple unit has motors/engines underneath the floor which propels the train whereas a locomotive tends to be a single non-passenger vehicle with one large motor/engine to haul carriages/wagons however there exceptions (for example the BR Class 210)

A CRH380A high-speed train is assembled in the manufacturing plant of Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd., in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, Jan. 3, 2014. With the highest speed of 380 km/hour, the model of CRH380A is the fastest train currently in operation in the world. The CRH380A train differs from relevant foreign products in four key aspects: locomotive external shape, bogie, car body sealing, and network control and trailing systems. It was designed according to international standards and in some areas even stricter, said Deng Xiaojun, deputy chief engineer of Qingdao Sifang. (Xinhua/Wu Kaixiang)
