Yeah agreed, that's the bad thing about photography is that you can be restrained by the hours of the day or get a narrow time of opportunity for the best shot.

Hello folks, I was thinking about buying the go pro hero 3, maybe the white or the silver, but I read some bad reviews on amazon and so, I'm not quite sure... I am looking for a camcorder, mainly to record the city while I drive; that's why I thought about the go pro series...

Do you have any suggestions? Keep in mind my budget is around 300 usd

Get the go pro! You will not find a better camera for the price. If anyone writes a bad review about them they obviously don't know how to use it or are just being stupid. It's a great camera!

I don't own one currently, but I used to have the hero 2 which was great! I've used the new black edition as well which is certainly a step up from the hero 2.

Buyers on Amazon are reporting GoPro Hero 3 has major production flaws, camera freezes up, not reading SD card, unresponsive, excessive battery drainage, leaky camera housing unit (water gets in in underwater situations) and other terrible things.

140 people gave it an average 3 stars, which is rough for a camera let alone GoPro's new Hero 3.

So don't just judge a camera by it's carefully crafted Youtube video showing exotic locations but also read reviews and what consumers
are saying about it.

That was the first I read and that's why I came here and asked for advice... It seems there are not many options though, specially, having such a low budget.

I have the Hero 3 silver for four months now - I have never had any leakage - the only problem I have had is that it may become unresponsive if left off for a few days - in which case simply remove the battery and reinsert and then works 100%. The camera can be mounted in so many places via the adhesive mounts and the suction cup.

Here are two videos I have taken with the GoPro 3 Silver
