Hi people ,

Ostankino Tower
-Moscow Russia, 1967

Finished this model a few months ago, this morning I thought I should post it already!
I was searching around on the internet for my next model and I came across this tower, thought it was fascinating, and something different.

Enjoy building it if you do. Should make sense to build, if you follow the numbered boxes, and compare to the photo.
Think it is a fun model to have, cause it is sooo super tall and thin.

Looks fantastic

Though in your latest model overview picture it is significantly taller than Sears Tower despite only being 32 feet taller irl...

Are you considering making the Wanda Vista Tower, One Bennett Park, or One Grant Park, (all under construction skyscrapers located in Chicago), anytime soon?

It's great to still see you making your amazing models since I left Tim! I always loved the naturalness/texture of your models, both on the screen and in your photos.

Thanks CNTower, great to see you still coming by the threads!

One Chase Manhattan Plaza & 20 Pine
-New York City, 247.8m, 1961
& 150.9m, 1928

Happy New Year!!!

Thought modeling both of these buildings and the plaza base would make a cool model.
Contrast of architectural styles, heights and the open space, something a little different from the previous models I've made....
Like to keep it surprising, changing the model type after the last two towers.

Until next time .
P.S. i'll take an updated group photo when I complete my next model, whenever that is...

Feind added the base earlier .

John Hancock Tower (200 Clarendon Street)
-Boston, 240.8m, 1976

Started this model almost a year ago, been a fan of the building for some time.
Hadn't modeled a building with mirrored glass, thought having a different cladding type would be interesting.

Reliance Building
-Chicago, 62m, 1895

And,

Wainwright Building
-St. Louis, 41m, 1891

These two models are historical high-rise buildings.
Reliance Building- The first high-rise building to have glazing making up the majority of the external surface area, innovative building knowing the prominence of glass-clad towers that followed.
Wainwright Building- Considered to be one of the first high-rise buildings in the world. The architect Louis Sullivan helped architecturally conceptualize the modern multi-storied building.

Think it's nice to have really tall and small models in a collection, helps give scale to all the buildings.

Been on annual leave the last few weeks, so my output will slow down again as i'm back at work tomorrow. Still have lots of models I would like to make, so until next time .

Excellent! You may try to apply a self-adhesive tape (transparent) on the surface of "glass" facades. It will turns more spectacular.
