Early late 80-s or early 90-s were just twenty years ago, building that can easily stand for centuries can hardly get dated in that time.
Also, we here missed 70-80s period in highrise architecture and there is nothing wrong in doing some catch up, as proper skyscrapercity is expected to have all the time periods represented.

i think this tower would of looked great cladded in black glass and steel bracing, like the john hancock tower in chicago. it would fit the design well, and the symbolism would pay homage to moscow's heavy industry, because now, i think moscow's trying too hard to put on a facade of modernity.
