Yes! Lubbock is definitely going places these days. It may not be a Dallas, Houston or Austin, but for a panhandle city it's making strides.

This is true. It's making more noise than West Texas' major city El Paso.

I'm going to hell for saying this, but is that squiggly neon tower supposed to represent the flight path of Buddy Holly's plane?

OMG that is sadly hilarious! I feel like that string of light should have went around the roof of the building or something...

Do any of you guys have any skyline pics of Lubbock, Midland/Odessa or Amarillo? I don't think their skylines get enough notice. Midland has an amazing skyline for a city its size.

By Sarah Self-Walbrick
October 9th. 2017

The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance and technology firm Hoverstate announced Monday it would open a new office in downtown Lubbock.

The company plans to hire 50 employees, who will earn an average annual salary of $60,000. Employees will primarily work on technology sector jobs with a company called Pega, a business process automation firm who recently invested in Hoverstate.

Hoverstate will office in the basement of the Courthouse Lofts at 800 Broadway. The building is currently being renovated. Lubbockites will know the location as the former federal building and court house.

A handful of current employees will soon relocate to start the Lubbock office, which is expected to open in November. Favuer said his team is looking forward to becoming a part of The Hub City.

New condo complex could be coming to Ninth Avenue in medical district

Quote:
On the drawing board for Amarillo right now is a condominium complex just north of the Medical Center Park.

Louis Homen, who owns Team West Realty Inc., is spearheading what he believes will be a $40 million to $50 million project to build the 9th Avenue Tower.

“At this point, we are talking with contractors to establish a cost for our investors so that they can see what kind of rate of return they’d be looking at,” he said.

Current designs call for 199 units ranging from one-bedroom homes t0 5,000-square-foot penthouse suites on the top two floors of the 14-story building.
