My guess would be Atlanta, Charlotte, and Phoenix.

I found this wich ranks city from 1990-2000

I cant find the link but i read some where that NYC had the largest population growth also... not % wise but actual numbers

There must be a typo. The info on your link states that San Antonio and Austin grew by the exact same amount of people between 1990 and 2000. This is obviously a typo. The correct figure for Austin should be 190,940.

I would say places that were smaller some years ago like in the 70's. For instance Atlanta wasnt always as huge as it is now so many of these people had to come from somewhere, the same for other cities like it. As far as transients ... I wouldnt begin to guess...

Nobody is from Houston anymore...

I bet its about a 1 in 4 ratio... Most of the people are from other places in the US, or Another continent.

^ Exactly, cities like that where you ask someone where they are from almost always. In a place like Louisville or say Fresno where the question is rarely the first or second thing asked.
