Thanks for the updates
I have some questions about the subway in Shiraz.
Station in Vakil bazaar how will be build - in an open or closed method? And how deep will be?
What model trains will run on the first line? When will construction begin on line 2?

you're welcom Soroosh and Batman

I think that Vakil station has been removed but if this want to running the contractor will use open method and deep tunnel.

TBM devices have been taken to Mianrood in south of Shiraz for starting line2.

Is there any information on when exactly will be opened line 1?
In my opinion metro systems in Iran are quite amazing! Tehran metro is very beautiful! At least one of the pictures up to see a complete architectural stations in Shiraz - very good looks! Commendable is that using good materials!

line1 in the two phase is being completed.phase 1: 14km form Gole sorkh Sq to Namazi Sq and phase2: 10km from Namazi Sq to Ehsan Sq,th manager of Shiraz metro organization has announced phase 2 opening until Sep2011 and entire route will be opened on 2013.

I think they must use symbols of antiquities in design of metro stations.

design of Afif abad station

design of sharati station

Hmm, I wonder why the Shiraz Metro and the Metros for other cities take so much time! In Tehran we already have almost 150 kilometer metro lines, but we are not working fast enough in other cities.

I don't know why everybody is complaining about Tehran when it comes to metro ))))))
Tehran's metro is the highest priority for Iran and the reason must be clear. I'm sure other cities of Iran don't have the problems Tehran has when it comes to public transportation, traffic jams, air poulltion, etc. even if it means to totally stop building metros in other cities to finish the Tehran metro I think they should do it.

tehran is the capital so it makes sense. there should be moer money to Tehran since its larger and is more gardankoloft but the issue is that they forget other cities
