New Era University Convention Centre, Arena and Broadcast Centre
Engineering Harmonics has been awarded the sound, video and broadcast consultancy for the New Era University Convention Centre, Arena and Broadcast Centre near Manila, Philippines. The 55,000 seat Philippine Arena—the world’s largest dome-arena—is the centrepiece of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), and is expected to be completed for the INC’s centennial celebration in 2014. Engineering Harmonics is working with Populous Architects of Australia and BuroHappold Engineers of the UK.
The arena will measure over 245 meters in length and 185 meters wide, with the roof structure containing over 9,000 tons of steel. More importantly, the Philippine Arena will anchor a new city and community, making it one of the most important projects in Asia. When completed, the $200M Arena will serve as a venue for religious, cultural and sporting events.
