My trip to Beijing - China April 2009 بكين - الصـــين

Spent a week in Beijing and it was fine i think next time im in China i will go for Shanghai and HongKong. I was busy half the time since it was a work related trip but 2 of my friends and I managed to squeeze in visits to the most famous attractions. Ive taken well over a thousand pictures but i will stick with these 52 for now .... the lense i used was "ok" but i think i should start hunting for better ones

Interesting, I'm going to visit Beijing in September. Is it a highrise city like Hongkong or Shanghai? How long does the trip to the Chines Wall take?

it does have alot of highrises but i got the impression it was too government run well Duuuh it is the capital ... the highways are too wide and buildings are too wide spread to actually get the feeling that your in a highrise mecca , shanghai and hongkong are at a totally different level i want to go to those cities and experience something totally different

The ride to the wall from downtown in VERY GOOD traffic took 1 hour and 20 mins

That sounds a bit like socialist urban planing. I know that from East Berlin

I thought the Wall is days away from Beijing, didnt expect they built it so close to the capital. So a good idea for a day trip?

the wall is over 10,000 km long and it goes through alot of Cities so your bound to bump into it eventually

Well you can always book a day trip to the forbidden city which automatically includes visiting other locations of interest , the opera house is a must and hmmmpff it depends really on how much time you have , the great wall ofcourse

Beijing is very different than HK or Shanghai. Everything is wider and not as tall but it has its own flavor and uniqueness. Feels very capital. HK and Shanghai of course is dense and have ton of highrises. So have you ever been to HK or Shanghai?

nice pics. Beijing doesn't seem to have a skyline, but I guess they kept it like that on purpose
