Indeed I did!

I also promised london landmarks, so here's a somewhat lesser-known view of the Shard, from Broomfield Hill, near Coombe Gate.

The round tower on the right is St George's Wharf in Vauxhall. It should have some company on the skyline in the coming years. The concrete towers closer to us are the Alton Estate in Roehampton.

Here you can see the BT Tower on the horizon too.

And just to totally switch it up to something completely different - a sunset.

(With some deer.)

Wonderful deer pics, and I love your shots from parents with their children
watching the deer.

Looks like a garden eden!
Beautiful sunset impressions too...

Fortunately I could see your updatings, since Page 28, and loved your register of "villages in the metropolis" - loved all pics with country fields, deers and Isabella Plantation (lovely colors).

Images on this page, with deers in foreground and apartment buildings in background, are interesting and made me think about importance of how to plan land use to bring different landscapes till our urban fabrics - not a coomon thing everywhere, because increasing value of land brings higher densities (less deers, more apartment blocks...).

Thanks for sharing your visual registers and interesting texts

Thanks everyone!

I hadn't really noticed until I reviewed my 'catalogue' for this thread, how few of my photos show leaves on the trees. Apparently I have a strong bias for autumn/winter in Richmond Park. I knew I loved the rusty/orange shades of the season but didnt realise the photo output was quite so weighted.

Overhead you might spot a kestrel

Bird of prey over Richmond Park by stevekeiretsu, on Flickr

although the visually dominant bird life in the park is the ring-necked parakeet. these bright green birds are the only naturalised parrot species in the uk - nobody is quite sure how this tropical bird established itself in the country but there are now thousands if not 10s of thousands of the noisy little chaps roosting in the SW London area alone, and more beyond.

From the ponds we can ascend Sawyer's Hill...

Sawyer's Hill by stevekeiretsu, on Flickr

Sawyer's Hill by stevekeiretsu, on Flickr

...and find ourselves almost back where we started, near King Henry's Mound. However walking around the rather broad 'summit' area of Sawyer's Hill looking in different directions from slightly different spots, reveals views of far more than just an isolated St Pauls.

You can see a whole lot of stuff from up here, from lesser-known/outer london landmarks and high-rises of Brentford, Crystal Palace or Shepherd's Bush...

Brentford towers from Sawyer's Hill by stevekeiretsu, on Flickr

London from Sawyer's Hill by stevekeiretsu, on Flickr

...to the towers of Vauxhall, Elephant & Castle and all the way over to Canary Wharf.

Way back in 2012 when St George Tower was really the first Vauxhall tower to go up:

and more recent (2016) shots showing some company joining it - a few more towers have been built since and there's still a lot more to come

An amazing park (just a shame occasionally about the aggressive cyclists doing their laps nearly running over your children and then telling at them!!!)

Great pictures Steve!

[QUOTE=stevekeiretsu;114187433]In true Battersea style though, the urban geography goes directly from one extreme to another - overlooking the eastern edge of the park are two huge pieces of industrial architecture...

There is a gas tank exactly like this in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fascinating see see those feral parakeets in Richmond Park! Given that they are a central African species, what's extraordinary is that they can thrive at London's latitude.
