Shanghai to HK return flight

Which airlines offer flights from Shanghai to HK?? How much is it?? Is it cheaper to take domestic routes such as Shanghai-Shenzhen???

Thanks.

China Eastern and Dragonair fly the route with many frequencies everyday. Fares vary depending on shoulder or high season, but a quick check on Dragonair revealed a cost of HK$3000 for a roundtrip. China Eastern is cheaper at $2000.

Flights to Shenzhen should be considerably cheaper, but don't forget to add the cost and time of travelling from Shenzhen Airport to the Hong Kong border and then the cost of getting to the city from there.

In fact, I won't be surprised that your travel time will double by transferring through Shenzhen.

Stan, for the amount of money you can save flying to Shenzhen instead, you have the added bonus of seeing two cities instead of just one.

I'm not sure how much it'll cost to get from Shenzhen Airport to the Hong Kong border, but I recommend taking a taxi. The airport is very far from the city centre. The train fare from the Lowu border crossing to East Tsim Sha Tsui is HK$36.50.

I am pretty sure there is a ferry service at least. In fact, I hardly ever hear recommendations to go by taxies.

Anyway Stan, I am using the same strategy to see two cities for the price of one!

The ferry service doesn't run very frequently at all.
Shenzhen Airport - Kowloon : 0900, 1030, 1200, 1415, 1600, 1715
Shenzhen Airport - Hong Kong : 1600, 1830, 1945

Anyway....I suppose sometimes asking locals isnt very useful. They seem reluctant to give full infos. Here is a comprehensive listing of buses which goes to Shenzhen's airport straight to various points in HK without having to transfer here and there:

http://www.szairport.com/eng/e-traffic/e-jiaotong07.htm

The ferry services:

http://www.szairport.com/eng/e-traffic/e-jiaotong06.htm

And btw, Shenzhen airport is apparantly 32km from Luohu, the CBD of Shenzhen and just across the HK border. For comparison, HKIA is a whooping 40km from downtown. In addition, try factoring in the cost of getting to HK central from HKIA, and the choice is clear.

Alternatively, Macau is also good!

Haha...are you refering to the situation, or the actual pricing?

Btw, manage to find the prices for domestic flights to Shenzhen yet? Or how about Shanghai-Macau?
