Looks like a very clean, organized, and modernized city.
I wish I could visit it someday.

Is Malaysia going to move their national capital there?
or it will only be the admintrative captital?
I know it's very close to KL, what is the distance between the 2 cities?

Absolutely stunning architecture! Even the streetlamps are cutting-edge! The pic of the bridge at night (the first pic) is screensaver material! Mindblowing!!!

Nope....that's not traffic. That is when the regular parking is full and the public uses the huge roundabout surrounding Putra Square as temp parking. There are usually a surge of people visiting the place (like in the picture) every Friday afternoon for Friday prayers and when there's an occasion/festivities in that area

When the Putrajaya Monorail starts operations (probably in a couple of years time/when there's demand for it), that entire area would be closed for this temp parking (only opened to moving traffic) as the monorail would be passing thru Putra Square (underground).

Nope.....Malaysia's capital would still be KL as the parliament, the King's Palace, Army HQ and Police HQ are all still in KL. Putrajaya is like the 'protocol city' for visiting dignitaries (so that the motorcades wouldn't choked up KL's main road) and the seat for most of the governmental offices.

It is so close to KL that as of last year.....both cities have basically joined thanks to KL's sprawl! As for the distance between KL's official boundary and Putrajaya's official boundary......I guess it should be less than 20kms.....I'll try to get a more accurate figure soon

More pictures:

Putrajaya Monument and its surrounding park (Putra Perdana Park). The Putrajaya Monument is the first structure to be built in Putrajaya (1996) and it is designed by a local sculptor and it is constructed using stainless steel
