From Pete at OKCTalk:

Quote:
I understand the City has reached a tentative agreement with Clayco for TIF incentives and the matter will soon go before City Council.

Do not know the numbers but the first part of this is just for the OG&E office building and the north parking garage. I suspect the presentation will include what TIF dollars would be provided for the other phases as well.
Took a few more months than expected, but it's finally moving along!

I think this is a very beautiful piece, paired or alone, and should be a great asset to the area. I'm thrilled the architects are respecting the context of the site, both in providing the park with quality adjoining architecture of appropriate designs and in respecting some of the traditional styles that have come before. It would be all too easy to construct something with minimal detailing looking to just capitalize on the location and sell tenants on the views outward, but instead they've contributed to the public landscape.

Well done, and here's to looking forward to its realization.

Finicky b******!

Nice to take in a structure when those are your nits to pick, though. A far site better than the usual piece that strolls in looking for only 51% approval ratings.

Word is from OKCTalk that we can expect a final revised announcement of this project "soon."

What we know is that it'll be drawn down to two towers instead of four and will each be a floor or two shorter than the original plan (23-24 stories opposed to 25-26). One tower will still primarily house OGE, and the other will be an apartment tower, but will not be started simultaneously, rather some time later after the first tower has started or perhaps even been completed.

So, this project is not dead, just dragging itself along nice and slow.

I suppose we should consider ourselves fortunate it's still alive, given the oil price slump.

There's been some heated discussion over at OKCTalk about all of this. I was never much of a fan of the Stage Center, but I tend to agree that the whole process by Clayco, Rainey Williams, and OG&E has been egregious. Nevertheless, I am hopeful for a future development that takes advantage of the fact that the Myriad Gardens is located across the street.

Unfortunate but understandable. Project cancellations have begun in Houston.
