Yeah, all Altrincham's are, and some East Didsbury to Rochdale and Eccles line had them too

Do you think a hatch in the floor would be any better? Obviously it would need careful design to prevent it opening unintentionally (including a secure lock!).

Erm. No. If you made it so secure that it couldn't be opened in normal service, then surely it would be next to useless in an emergency.

Let's not forget that there is quite a lot of equipment on the roof and under the floor of an M5000.......

No. We use P2 for about 30 mins every Tuesday while network check P1 rails and to keep the track clean.

Network Rail issue affecting the Altrincham line with all services currently terminating at Timperly. No word on ticket acceptance or anything, yet.

Update 1056

Due to the Network Rail issue, tickets are being accepted on the 11, 19, 245 and 263 services. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Seems to have lasted to around 3pm
Were parallel rail services affected
Or was it barriers at Navvy road again?

No delays to heavy rail services through Navigation Road. Seven freight trains passed through between 12:00 and 15:00 today, in addition to the hourly Northern passenger service each way.
