Yeah, I know - I can't get the hyperlinks to work. Didn't notice the letter missing! I'll have to sort that one out too. Thanks for the proof read

What is your take on the Ritz Towers's over height limits and associated over-shadowing on the Eastern Promenade?

What would your take have been if the group you were involved with had won the bid and been given the extra height?

You still really believe he was involved in a group to bid on this?

FYI, I am not against tall buildings per se. Great if Far East get their DA with 40% over height. This will however set a fantastic but at the same time, a dangerous precedent to other sites around the whole E Quay. It will also cast unnecessary aspersions to the propriety of the entire tender process for the E Quay sites.

Sanj, there are projects out there within MRA's jurisdiction that were not even allowed to go up to the height limits or the tower footprint percentage. These developers abide by the rules and guidelines but that was not appreciated and even got penalised!

So pray tell me, where is the equity? Yes, it is sounds like sour grapes but the authorities cannot be seen to be playing politics and apply the design guidelines differently to different developers.

Governments are not fair. Go look on the ASX at the share MEL, NSW let them spend $120 million on drilling and after they found some large reserves just pulled the rug out underneath them. That case is in the high court tomorrow. So yes the government can be totally unfair, it happens, they are far from perfect, not fair etc. I guess just have to make the best of each situation, would have good leverage on the other sites to build higher after the precedent is set?
