JAKEL Mall reminds me of a retro casino, like the Casino Lisboa in Macau!

I wonder if this will impact the property price of nearby properties. If it does, in which direction? Some people purchase the condo nearby with if a hope to live nearby a hip mall.

I think the Arabs surely will love to stay in this area since Lulu Hypermarket is the No.1 Hypermarket in Middle East and the business surely will booming in dat area since Jakel is so popular among the malays and textile lovers...even Singaporean come all the way from the south just to shop at Jakel & Jln TAR area...just look at the impact at the current Jakel building which is just nearby..

I don't understand why would they travel thousands of miles away from their home to experience something new and end up wanting to live next to a hypermarket that might available across a street from their home?

CapSquare to reopen as Jakel Square in January

By Vasantha Ganesan / The Edge Malaysia | January 21, 2015 : 7:30 PM MYT

TEXTILE retailer and wholesaler Jakel Trading Sdn Bhd will launch its first property development project, Jakel Square, in Kuala Lumpur next month with the opening of the country’s largest textile mall.

Previously known as CapSquare Retail Centre, the building in Jalan Munshi Abdullah has undergone an extreme makeover and will also be home to new hypermarket entrant, LuLu Group International, from the Middle East.

In a recent interview, Jakel Trading group managing director and CEO Datuk Mohamed Faroz Mohamed Jakel tells The Edge details about the group’s move from clothing and furnishing to property development and investment.

Last year, Hajra Properties Sdn Bhd, a company wholly owned by the Jakel family, acquired CapSquare Retail Centre for an estimated RM199 million from Bandar Raya Developments Bhd (BRDB). “We paid over RM300 million as we also acquired some lots from individual owners,” Mohamed Faroz says. “It was a good buy.”
