In the 2000s how many different NBA teams have won the title? Lakers, Spurs, Pistons, Heat and Celtics. 5 teams. MLB, without a salary cap, has had 8 different teams win the World Series since 2000. Why do you want a salary cap? Just because the Yankees won?
I don't think you can call the NFL's salary cap system flawed. If anything, it makes winning championships that much harder and more interesting. The NFL is smart, more of their players pay is tied to their performance than any other major sports league in the US. Not every NFL contract is guaranteed money which makes perfect sense.

Since 2000, Major League Baseball has had 8 Champions. The NFL has had 7.

Salary cap really doesn't fix it. The Yankees hadn't won since 2000, I hate them as much as anyone but they don't go and buy the title every year like people say they do.

number of champions doesn't paint the full picture. In MLB,the same teams have a winning records every year and the same teams have losing records every year. I dont think we will see teams like the royals, blue jays, reds, pirates, ect. make the playoffs in the next decade yet I can imagine any NFL team making the playoffs within 1-2 years.

2007 to 2008 Miami Dolphins went from 1-15 to 11-5 and the TN titans are 2-6 this year after going 13-3 last year.

Since 2000, all but 2 NFL teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Lions, have not made the playoffs. At the same time, MLB only has 8 teams vs 16 for the NFL.

But still, the number of teams that have winning records, or have had winning records is highly in the NFL.

The NFL has 12 teams -- 4 division champions plus 2 wild cards per each conference.

That's because the NFL creates artificial parity by assigning softer schedules and top draft picks to the worst teams, plus with 4-team divisions, a team who plays in a piss-weak league such as the NFC West can play 6 cupcake games and take the backdoor into the playoffs, regardless of how badly they fared against their other 10 opponents.

Iether way, its much harder for a team to simply buy up all the talent. Which unfortunately is making the MLB as lame as some Euro leagues.

Smacks forehead......that's terrible i messed up the number of teams that make the playoffs.

The NFL uses a rotating schedule. Which is set years in advance. As in this eyar the AFC East plays the AFC South and next year the AFC East will play the AFC North.

Absolutely. New Yankee Stadium is very sterile, cold and uninviting. The obstructed views caused by the restaurant in CF is unexceptable. The fact that the Yankees chose to build a version of Yankee Stadium without a Death Valley is mind-boggling. The frieze is a not only a pale imitation of the original, but also looks cheap compared with the renovated version. ('76-'08). The company formerly known as HOK struck out with NYS.

So the Tampa Bay Rays(2008), Colorado Rockies (2009) was just in my imagination..there's always a surprise team coming to the MLB playoffs. It's more unpredictable.
