No, they will just replace the ones in the upper ends of the stadium.

Aren't they at the ends though? It seems like in American football, the ends aren't that valuable anyway.

A little thing which bothers me is that between the field and the first row of seats, there's a gap where you can see the (what looks like anyway) cars parked underneath the stadium. It looks weird and I'm not really used to it. If I were the cowboys, I'd use that section for advertising, a flat concrete piece would cover that up and allow for banners across the flanks. I know nfl grounds don't really do banner advertising but it's something they could consider.

Where do you see these Cars? And field side in the end zone is an AWESOME seat in a US football stadium. I have been to quite a few games here (Cowboys, College and High School) and the atmosphere is great. The most enteresting thing is that High School kids are more excited to play in Cowboys Stadium than they are in Reliant.

For me is Cowboys Stadium. I dont like the way Reliant looks during day games (Looks like white light, not natural light) and the screen looks like there is to much white. Cowboys stadium during day games allows in allot of real light in with the End Zone doors. Reliant is bland and was built between the end of Economical building frenzy and the GLITZY building frenzy. I believe that if Houston had to do it over again, we would see something more along the lines of what Cowboys Stadium is.

Below the flank seats. Maybe I'm imagining things but my primary point is that that space could be used for ads, and I find it odd that there's a gap there.

Really? Because I've heard people on this site openly state that end zone seating in US football isn't nearly as valued as flank seating. I mean there's got to be a reason why many college stadiums stack the seating on the flanks yet leave either one or both end zones empty. And I don't think it's just the love of the hoorsehoof shape or the desire to see the skyline, sitting in the ends takes you away from the play.

Room for expansion and tradition.

There's your answer.

When the opposing offense is approaching the goal line (or with their backs to their own), a steep end zone packed with boisterous fans can make a difference.

Not much different than a Kop, really.

Exterior: Cowboys Stadium (by a distance)

Interior: Reliant Stadium (by a distance)

And since function and the interior of a stadium is more important than exterior aesthetics, Reliant gets the nod from me.

Oooo...those are field level suites that run along the side line at a lower lever than the ones pictured above.

Found this on Flickr
