To promote public transport, preparations for Delhi Road-Jagatpura-Pratapnagar brts route have begun. However the first phase is still to be finished. The responsible company and govt's lack of activeness is causing trouble for the common man. Despite several notices by JDA as well as fines, the company responsible is not doing things in a proper way.

JDA had marked 3 phases of the first part of the BRTS corridor. Out of the three, only one on Sikar road has been built. One was scraped after objections from the Central government. Whereas the pace of work on the third one is so slow that it is late by a whole year now.

The JDA has given nearly half a dozen notices to the company constructing the corridor. It has also been fined 2 times. However, the company keeps getting away by given excuses related to finances. The government has also not acted swiftly despite the fact that the Urban development department had set up a committee.

How is it impacting the people:

Due to construction, there is constant jam in Durgapura. Heavy vehicles are being diverted from JLN road. Electric wires remain open near St Wilfred college. The road between Durgapura bus stand and BSNL exchange is not wide enough hence traffic jams. On new Sanganer road accidents are occurring due to dug up road.

Report on 3 phases of the 1st part:

Phase 1: Sikar Road: 7km long. Work started in 2007, Finished in August 2010 and has been in operation since then.

Phase 2: Panipech to Sanganer Airport: On this 19 km route, there were first plans for Dedicated and then mixed used lane. The width of the road was not enough for a dedicated corridor and the central govt said no to a mixed corridor.Therefor, in 2009 this phase was scrapped. Instead of this, a new route from B2 bypass to airport has been suggested. Currently pending for approval with Central govt.

Phase 3: B2 bypass to C zone bypass- Ajmer road-Sodala-Government hostel and Durgapura elevated road. Work going at a snails pace from B2 bypass to C-Zone and Durgapura Elevated road. The company started work in 2010 and now the deadline is december 2013.
