Cheers.

Of happenings:

In Brisbane, AMP Capital and Billbergia’s mega-development, Skytower, is expected to receive bids from Watpac, Probuild and Brookfield Multiplex. The construction contract to build the main tower is worth between $330m and $350m.

Billbergia managing director and co-founder John Kinsella said construction was expected to start early next year following the completion of the eight-storey carpark and core lift works.

“We anticipate announcing the appointment of the successful builder shortly after the launch of the next stage release, which for the first time will also include apartments on the top 10 levels of this iconic tower,” he said.

Locally based builder Hutchinson constructed the car park.

So this sounds like confirmation of what lotec told us - that, actually Hutchinson are only going to build the core up to street level, and then Skytower will go back on hold again...until "early next year". Bit of a let down after the excitement of thinking this was actually starting construction. Could anyone provide a reason for this? Should we be worried?

I thought that was a pretty standard way of operating.
