hi everybody,

Been reading about this for a while now, this is a mega project in collaboration between BIC (Basra Investment Commission) and the Ministry of Works & Construction as well as the contractor WADI SAWA INTERNATIONAL. (see this http://wadi-sawa.com/) which is a consortium of Iraqi and American consultancy and engineering firms.

مختصر تفاصيل مشروع مدينة البصرة الحديثة الاستثماري الذي يقع خلف المدينة الرياضية والجاري العمل به حاليا وبكلفة 220 مليون دولار
اولا :140 فلة وبمساحة 400 متر
ثانيا :640 بيت وبمساحة 200 متر
ثالثا : 780 شقة سكنية

thank you very much for the info, but i'm a little bit confused, are the construction pics you posted for the "New Basra City" or for Saafat el-basrah project ?

from earlier posts, New Basra city was suppose to be a huge project like Basmaya Project in baghdad.. people have suggested that it's currently on-hold, with no real progress.

would be great if you can let us know what you think :)

You must be a good bargainer. They sell what can they sell ! i heard that there are people that buy 400.000$ (and also 270.000$). As i say business ethics is problem.

I'm not sure but (acording to my perception) there can be problems about construction (about work and workers) in 10-12 day.

depends on size. for a modern / high tech / 400m2 villa in a "new" development with all mod cons its not expensive and will get sold out very quickly.

if we knew the specifications of these villas it would be easier to judge.

for me personally, this place would be a god send. if we could buy one for the company and we would use it as offices and accomodation... it would be perfect... I would think there's a hundred other small to medium sized companies looking at such places.
