Court action on Leeds ram raids

Published 16/05/2013 09:29, Yorkshire Evening Post

Eight people have appeared in court charged over claims they plotted to carry out a series of robberies and ram raids.

The five men and three women, all from east Leeds, face allegations relating to a string of incidents at a range of businesses last year.

Among the premises alleged to have been targeted were a hairdressing salon in Rothwell, an entertainment venue in Wetherby, a phone shop in Hunslet and a convenience store in Horbury, as well as others in West Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

All eight accused, who face charges including conspiracy to break into the businesses in question, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court together for a brief hearing.

They are: Billy Kirby, 22, of Glensdale Mount; Jackie Gilmore, 54, of East Park Grove; Kayleigh Anderson, 19, of Rosgill Drive; Noel Heatley, 33, of Raincliffe Street; Julie Price, 27, of Richardson Road; Jason Jones, 24, of Lydgate; Andrew Wagstaff, 28, of Raincliffe Grove; and Michael O’Reilly, 31, of Appleby Place.

Didn't they say they weren't going to submit any more after the last time they did, possibly due to funding reasons? Welcome to Yorkshire have though - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-22596168

Yes I think you may be right about that. I vaguely remember something like that.

Happy to see Welcome to Yorkshire have submitted one though, and that it recognises the Tour de France, but it could be far better than that.

The garden won a silver-gilt medal, just one below gold, so it obviously had something going for it. I think it's often mostly about the type and arrangement of plants used, rather than the overall look of the garden, which I'd agree isn't the best.

The poster just happened to be from Sheffield. Jealous much?

Good god, Opal Court in Leicester looks terrible. I can't believe the company has manage to build so much rubbish everywhere.

Can't believe the Liverpool Ferry Terminal won in 2009 - these cretins just think modern = bad.
