Tan Son Nhat's new International Terminal

Hello Everyone,

I know this subject has been talked about a bit. I am just curious, does anyone know when the new Tan son nhat new terminal is set to be completed?
I visited Vietnam in december of 06 and it was still under construction. Since today it is May 5, 2007 I was wondering if anyone knows the progress and how construction is going? Thanks.

actually, the airport is already finished with the construction. The dropped off bridge to the terminal is about done as well. They are moving and setting up equipments inside the terminal, also setting up shops and what not. I have some pictures, but don't know how to post them.

May I help you; I had the same problem, but now I know how to post pics:
1. go to http://photobucket.com/
2. press "join now"
3. create your own username and password
4. retype your password
5. press next step
6. follow the instuctions
7.then you can start to upload the pictures at photbucket
8. after uploaded, go back to skyscraper city and go to the last task/topic and press "quote"
9. then a new window opens, quote the topic/taks you have chosen and press on the post-card icon, enter the url-address of your picture which is shown at photobucket.com
10 press submit reply

good luck!

I am not sure what crap you are referring to, but here is the closest I could get to a frontal photo of the new terminal. I took this a month ago, and there is still a high wall in front of the terminal that makes it difficult to see the terminal from the front at ground level.

thank you everyone for your contribution to this thread. Looking at the pictures it looks like the terminal is almost complete. I can't wait to see it open when I go to VN later this year.

the old and the new are not connected?
what's with the space in between...build something big there and join the 2 terminals together.......I say a grand hall with a water fountain and lots of naked statues.

why did they not build a terminal to serve for both int'l and domestic flights? I don't like the idea to keep the old one for domestic in the near future while the new one just for int'l flights...two different architectural designs next to each other look chaotic...however, the new terminal is nice.

You know why they must build it separately?

In the int'l terminal, ppl who don't board the flight couldn't go inside the building, oterwise it will be stuffed with thousands of delegation of relatives, friends who want to greet their family from abroad.

In the regional one, they are allowed to do so. Anyone been to TSN will understand what i'm talking about.

The government would like to build a new international airport at Long Thanh in Dong Nai Province. Therefore the new terminal at TSN will probably be turned into a domestic terminal and the current domestic terminal will be torn down. There is a thread about the new terminal (started by tq) at
