Unlike Bali and Phuket, Boracay is just one tiny island, so all this land development that tries to make it on par with those is such a heartbreaking thing to see

If anyone does not want a crowded, commercialized tourist spots then stay away from Boracay especially white beach..
Now! If anyone cant resist going to Boracay?? spend time at the Puka beach quite, less crowded and no commercially structured establishments..

When you used to walk in white beach you will smell the ocean breeze now when you walk at white beach you smell canal and sewer. What a tragedy Commercialized is one thing turning the most beautiful island in the world into a slum is another. Greed and low IQ of Management I wonder why the senators aren't concerned about this , this is what they should be protesting and angered about ,destruction of natural treasures one by one, instead of the drug war.

Puka Beach is about to be fcked - there is a gigantic massive development happening there right now owned by 7 Seas [was able to see this August 2016].

Considering this is a protected area and the last "virgin" location of Boracay...

Bulabog Beach side area is literally the septic tank of Boracay Island.

Was not able to get a video/pic as my reaction was literally the last time I was there.

Itīs the image quality, not the reality, that inspires you here. Thatīs what a splendid photograph can do, influence your decisions.

But I donīt really know which one of these rice terraces actually are more impressing.

I've been to Banaue long before you probably even set foot in that area. At that time only few tourists are around, mostly from neighboring provinces. If you look at the picture that was posted by Ashley, at the right you can see the highway, and only a few houses are there. If you've been to Banaue, you'll see a lot of houses along the highway. And you probably know the reason why Banaue Rice Terraces was not included in the World UNESCO Heritage, even it is 2000 years old? If not, well, that's because too many houses were built around the rice terraces. BTW, in case you asked, I am an Igorot. and I have relatives in Banaue.

Anyways, if someone posted the picture below and said it is the Banaue Rice Terraces, I hope you are not going to believe that it is the Banaue Rice Terraces. Because it is not, these rice terraces are located in Santol, La Union.

LGU Santol

The issue of Boracay is not the only victim in the country, Majority of them like banaue Rice terraces a lot of garbage If I can show the photos from the river to the houses nearby since it's so close to Poblacion anyway, Filipinos are majority don't respect the environment a lot of garbage everywhere. Metro Manila is best example.
