Even I hope so! IndiGo is starting Kolkata-Ranchi operations from August, and even Jet Airways has scheduled a Boeing 737 service between the two cities from June 1.

Yeaps, Chotanagpur plateau is pretty rich in laterite iron rich soil. This is a typical color of the Murrum Soil.

Indigo's IXR-CCU was much needed from a long time. Hopefully the timing will be suitable for South (Chennai, BLR) bound passengers. Indigo has nice connectivity to these destinations from Kolkata. It was the need of the hour .

Great pics indeed Rahul.
I had arrived IXR on 26th of march which to my surprise was the inauguration date of the terminal! They were using a city ride bus for transporting people from plane to terminal which was barely 50-100m away
Couldn't explore the interiors that day due to time constraint, so thanks for posting a detailed shot.

Now after having a quality terminal, time has come for quantity in terms of increasing connectivity to other parts (particularly south and western India).
