I think he means that later, there will be more highrises surrounding the Telekom Tower.......

Well, looking that tower from PJ, it does dominate the skyline the same way like PTT...

A very lonely looking building, isolated from all the other highrises. Hopefully it will have more skyscrapers surrounding it

Menara TM to be inspirational wall

Images of former prime ministers and inspirational messages will be projected on Menara Telekom for a month in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka celebrations.

KUALA LUMPUR: Every night until Sept 14, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) will transform its headquarters building in Bangsar into an "inspirational wall" where the building will be a huge canvas displaying the images of the countryís five prime ministers and other unsung heroes.
Between 8pm and midnight, 28 large format projectors will beam the images, including those of ordinary Malaysians, onto the building.

"This initiative is aimed at fostering a sense of nationhood as well as to show gratitude to all Malaysians who have helped to build a beautiful nation," said TM Group chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Wahid Omar.

The Menara TM slide projection show is part of a series of events organised by TM to celebrate the countryís 50 yearsí of independence.
There is also the TM Merdeka Millionaire, a reward programme where a lucky customer could walk away with RM1 million in cash.

The eight-month program-me was held for the first time last year.

Other events include corporate festive campaigns in the form of television commercials, special promotions on TMís products and services, radio contests, extreme sports involving jumping from buildings, and a sound and lights show called Cahaya Gemilang at Menara KL.

TM will also publish a commemorative book reflecting its growth and achievements, give away national flags at TMpoints and take part in the annual Merdeka parade.

Briefing the press, Abdul Wahid said the theme for TMís Merdeka celebration this year is "Thanking Malaysians".

TM chairman Tan Sri Md Radzi Mansor yesterday presented prizes to TM Merdeka Millionaire monthly winners.

The first prize winner for June was Zulkifele Soh, 37, a Pahang teacher, who won a RM15,000 holiday package for two to England to watch the English Premier League.

KUALA LUMPUR: Menara TM beside the Federal Highway here was turned into a gigantic screen last night for the largest slide show the country has seen.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) transformed its 55-storey headquarters into a wall of inspiration, showcasing slides of the country's Prime Ministers and heroes in conjunction with the country's 50th Merdeka anniversary.

Group CEO Datuk Abdul Wahid Omar said images of heroes and inspiring messages from people who have contributed to the nation are projected on the “giant screen” measuring 54m wide and 120m high, which covers levels eight to 39 of the building.

The slide show, using technology to be used at the opening of the Beijing Olympics, will be on from 8pm to midnight daily until Sept 14.

TM has several projects running, including the TM Merdeka Millionaire programme, a reward programme to show appreciation for loyal customers, corporate campaigns, special products and services, national flag giveaways, radio contest, sound and light presentation at KL Tower, and the launch of its commemorative book in conjunction with its 20th anniversary.

To participate in the TM Merdeka Millionaire programme, all customers have to do is answer questions about themselves as well as complete a slogan on Malaysia's 50th Merdeka celebration. Forms can be obtained at any TMpoints or Celcom branches nationwide or online at www.tmonline.com.my

For details, call 1-300-888-555 or 100. The programme ends on Dec 31.
