Obviously KL is not in the list. That list is for Hyatt hotels currently under construction. There is no Hyatt hotel under construction now in KL. The new hotel is still a proposal...work hasn't start yet.

I guess all we can do is just wait and see...

Well the Hyatt KL was a short while ago on this list. Some of the Hyatt's under construction are apparantly not and still are on the list. But as you rightly say: Let's wait and see.

WATG unveils design for Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

The Seattle office of international destination design firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) is the design architect for the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, a 40-storey five-star hotel and mixed-use development in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One of the more notable design features of the project will be the hotel lobby. Instead of being on the ground level, it will be at the top of the building. When guests enter the building to check in, they will ride the express lifts to the lobby where impressive 360-degree views of downtown Kuala Lumpur will greet them. The building will also hold service apartments and offices. The contemporary hotel is currently in the design development phase, and is scheduled to open to the public in December of 2010. Since its founding in 1945, WATG has specialized in hospitality, leisure and entertainment design from its offices worldwide.

Same architects as Mandarin. I like it.
But what happened to the twin tower projects and the 51 storeys?

I think it is a lovely building. A little bit boxy, but in a nice way. It matches perfectly with boxy Lot C. It matches well with the new Impian Hotel as well.

The location might be on one of the lot in front of KL convention centre.

I think it looks like a face-lifted Cheung Keung Plaza in HK. I don't think it looks like Mandarin Oriental..in fact it's one of a kind in KL

I think the site is right beside One KL and in front of Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Drove past the area on Sunday and I saw One KL was already up and rising.
The site right next to it was already fenced up and a few giant machines were already there. I supposed it is for this project.

I personally like the design. Looks a bit like those towers in mainland China, but the height...40 storeys?? Quite disappointing.
