I saw them next to each other this morning with couplers sticking out but not coupled together and guessed it might of happened/happening later.
Is 2002 being used as a shunter then?

We summed up that it is in the evenings.

Cornbrook is the only one that isn't currently a terminus, but should be according to the map having the MediaCity-Cornbrook service.

Do you think Metrolink/TfGM look on here often and pick up on issues that we forumers point out?
Somebody on here pointed out that Werburgh's was mis-spelled in the PID message that said trams purporting to go to East Dids didn't really. I was in Rochdale on Sunday and noticed the spelling was correct.

Personally I think Vic should be in caps despite being a non-terminus, as it's a major rail interchange. Perhaps it will be in caps again when the Airport line opens.

It was me, and the spelling has been corrected.

I can see the good people of Bolton saying we are paying for it but will never get it also applies to Stockport I suppose.
Their were plans for Stockport lost by a combination of a expensive route (with big bridges required) and the council at the time (under Lib Dem control) being anti-tram. Since its gone NOC theyve become more pro tram.

Witness the power of SCC, they must be reading what we say and correcting it!

And if Port Salford gets the go-ahead!

Anyone got an up to date version of this map?

Is it just me or are Bolton and Wigan not even on it!?

Also, if it weren't for the Bury line, you could almost draw a band of tram-served area SW to NE! It also highlights how puny the Eccles line is...

Why would Bolton or Wigan be on it?

And how could there be a more "up to date" version of that?

The postcard view below is undated, but clearly later than 1920 as there are tram tracks in the road.

Thanks, jrb. This is a very interesting area which used to be full of substantial houses. Emmaline Pankhurst's is just to the left of the the camera in the present day grounds of the Infirmary, and Mrs (Elizabeth) Gaskell's house is on the corner of Plymouth Grove and Swinton Grove just off Upper Brook Street to the East (Swinton Grove begins where the Armenian church can just be seen in front of the new Travelodge in the upper picture). I worked hereabouts for five years and still visit regularly.

Maybe the fact that Rochdale is open and no longer under construction. Also Didsbury is poised to open.

I love you all (well, not ALL) , but you do lack imagination sometimes don't you?

It's not all shown as open. It's clearly missing Rochdale and soon-to-be Didders.

The idea that Bolton and Wigan are not on there is an extension of what Freel said. It's a map of Metrolink, which run by Transport for Greater Manchester - and neither of those local authorities are on it. Geddit?

Although very divisive, Wigan-Atherton-Manchester has growing interest from some of (not all) the politicians to be considered for Metrolink.

I can't find it on the site. If someone can link the PDF, I can update it easily for you.
