Oh you saw that. Amritha exp can be extennded, put a request to RM. But why you want all the trains to start from CBE only . Why you are not allowing and opposing the move to extend Bikaner-CBE exp to MDU or beyond.....

Long back it is clearly told by RM that Bangalore - Mangalore Exp is a day express only.
but he told earlier it is via Arsikere(as given by KA forum 1 month ago). Now it is changed to Mysore(in the recent past).

This train is also another example to run from salem to Madurai via Trichy to cover both big cities of Trichy and Madurai ( though bit longer). ( Like we we were suggesting of extension of Bikaner-Coimbatore weekly to Tuticorin via Trichy and Madurai)
Eswaran Sir,

Are you really sure you said that Bikaner - Coimbatore AC express to be extended to Tuticorin. I am sure this will land up in patronage issues. Tuticorin is not in much of a need of a AC express and also to Bikaner. Lets not get into such unwanted issues. Please send trains to Tuticorin which will be good use. As a suggestion, Bikaner - Coimbatoer train will be of a good use to Rameshwaram rather to Tuticorin.

Hi Navin,

It is his wishlist to extend BKN-CBE AC Exp to Tuticorin. There is no such proposal to extend the train from CBE either to Tuticorin/Rameshwaram.
Just look into the previous blogs regarding BKN-CBE Extension discussion!!!

ROB in Thanjavur Nagapattinam NH is completed well ahead of the time. It is planned to complete in 2years, but it is completed in 1.5 yrs only and today, it is opened for Traffic.

thanjavur ROB near Raniparadise taken many years.

Pallavaram ROB where the Tata sumo flied from unfinished Bridge to Railway track went for 5 years.

Lalapet ROB is another big story.
Budalur ROB is another tragedy story.

simple Dargha Road subway has taken so many years. ChromPet MIT ROB, Chrompet Radha Nagar subway, there are countless examples

Looking at those examples, it is SG, NHAI meticulous planning to work with SR and they together finished Mariamman koil ROB 6 months ahead of time.

Great Work

Selva,

Each and every one will have their own wishlist but it must be an equally justified one. Tuticorin being in a dead end has its own unique passenger destinations and it can also land up in patronage issue easily than any other destination in South Tamil nadu unless a favourable timings and route is provided for its trains. Tuticorin was not completely sure how the response would be for long distance trains until the TN - OKHA Vivek express was accepted with good patronage.

Tuticorin's demands will always centre around Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Howrah via Vishakapatnam, Mangalore and Ernakulam via Trivandrum/Sengottai. Anything beyond these destinations connectivity will face serious patronage issues.

Orrukulla Bikaner yenga irukunu flex board ad's thaan vaikanum kootatha serkka. Its a headache on top of current pains.

Strong wind detains trains
The Rameswaram-Chennai Express and at least four other trainssuffered delays on Thursday as they could not cross the Pamban rail bridge following high-velocity wind flow.

As the anemometer installed at the bridge indicated that the wind speed was more than 55 kilometres per hour, the Rameswaram-Chennai Express (Train No.16102), which left Rameswaram at 5 p.m., was held up at the other side of the bridge at Pamban for one and a half hours as it did not get the signal to proceed.

Only after the velocity of wind came down to below 50 kms per hour, the train was allowed to cross the bridge at 6.45 p.m., railway sources here said.

The wind speed was so high throughout the day and as a result four other trains, including the Tirupathi Express and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation train, suffered delays, the sources said.

The Rameswaram-Madurai Passenger train left Rameswaram at 6.40 p.m. after a delay of one hour, only to be stopped at Pamban for more than 30 minutes, before it was allowed to cross the bridge, the sources said.

Trains from both directions were stopped at Mandapam and Pamban and allowed to cross the bridge after the wind speed dropped, the sources added. The trains maintained a speed of 15 km/hour while crossing the bridge.

Looking at the composition, it looks like the new train between Bengaluru and Chennai is the left over rake of Chennai-Bengaluru Mail which had RSA with Karnataka exp.

Good that SWR/SR have delinked this RSA. We can expect the night mail to run on time. There were days when it used to run late even upto 5 hours

It is SCR rake.. congested SBC is kicking out a Hyderabad Bangalore exp rake to MAS and will run as Charminar exp. Inturn Charminar exp rake will go to SBC from MAS and then will proceed to Hyderabad from SBC.

Thanks for the clarification. Good that the rakes are used optimally rather than being held up at Basin bridge yard which was facilitating rat infestation

for that SBC Mail from MAS should be sent to some destination for better rake utilization.. because of this rake i.e. poor maintenance at SBC.. is spreading the rat menace to all rakes at BBQ and even to Egmore. Hope SWR solve the rat menace at SBC yard.

You have got it wrong. Complaints of rat infestation is more in BBQ maintained trains only. You may check with anyone. Any day, SWR rakes are better maintained.

Incidentally, Chennai-Bengaluru mail is indeed maintained at BBQ only with secondary maintenance at SBC. It stays more time at Chennai than Bengaluru- Once it arrives at 5 am in the morning at Central, it departs Chennai Central at 11.15 pm only. The whole of 18 hours it is held up at BBQ/MAS.

However, one should admit that the number of rakes that BBQ maintains is enormous and hence the problem.

My post was nothing to demean BBQ
