Probably the best SAT Patrol this year so far premiered today, showing the drive from Belgrade to Montenegro's coastal tourist town of Herceg Novi - via Republika Srpska's own tourist towns of Visegrad & Trebinje....really worth a watch, even if you don't understand a thing:

I gotta say, there's hardly a more beautiful region in Europe than this one - the sights, the towns, the food, and especially people themselves - few places in Europe compare

CrazySerb it must be very difficult to you that title of this video is "SAT patrol to Herceg Novi via Bosnia and Herzegovina", so you had to rename it.

Well, what to say - first, deadlines in Serbia are quite meaningless. Contractors obviously don't adhere to them and the toothless political apparatus doesn't have any mechanisms in place that would enforce serious monetary penalties.

That said, in recent weeks they've stepped up work on these sections and maybe towards the end of the year we might see some opening, though there are stretches where they're running almost a year behind...so nothing until at least mid to late 2018.

The country's infrastructure minister recently paid a surprise nighttime visit to...Spanish contractor Azvi is working in three shifts, from early morning till midnight:

Back to my favorite A2 motorway...quite an interesting picture, showing the ever increasing Chinese presence in Serbia and thus Balkans.

You can see both the newest Belgrade bridge in its earliest stages of construction, itself part of the Surcin-Obrenovac motorway section as well as the new Chinese "Mei Ta" massive factory complex for auto parts production, expected to employ almost 1,500 locals in Obrenovac once fully complete

Can somebody translate this?

Is Čiflik-Staničenje section going to open the upcoming days?

I can verify that Crvena Reka-Stanicenje with a span of 24 km was inaugurated yesterday, the section you're mentioning should be open for traffic in the upcoming weeks.

Here's a couple of fresh pics that were posted on the Serbian forum: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...postcount=2931

Here is the article verifying these claims: http://rtcaribrod.rs/sr/danas-je-pus...-24-kilometra/

Speaking of penalties

Potential penalties for contractors on Corridor 10 due to late works – Aktor and Azvi required to fix problems

Following the penalty of EUR 100,000 for the consortium Azvi-Rubau, the Corridors of Serbia have issued a warning to companies working on another two sections of Corridor 10, Vecernje Novosti reports.

The newspaper reports that the Greek Aktor has been requested to fix the problems on the section from Prosek to Crvena Reka, whereas Azvi has been given another warning, due to the section from Grdelica to Caricina Dolina. If the mistakes are not fixed in a reasonable amount of time, the companies stand to be penalized.

Due to the works being late on Corridor 10, the investors, the Roads of Serbia and the Corridors of Serbia, have so far terminated the contracts with two unconscientious contractors – the Austrian Alpine and the Bulgarian Trace, Novosti reminds.

The Roads of Serbia have issued penalties worth around RSD 901 billion on their construction sites in the past 12 years. Last year, the Highway Institute, Srbija Autoput, Planum and Osijek-based Werkos were the subject of penalties.

With A4 nearing completion, looks like the next motorway project Serbia will focus will be this....

Intl lenders interested in Nis-Pristina motorway project - Serbian infrastructure min

BELGRADE (Serbia), July 12 (SeeNews) - Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the World Bank are interested in financing the construction of a motorway that will link the city of Nis with Pristina in Kosovo via Merdare.

In addition to funding the construction of the Nis-Pristina motorway, the Serbian government will also hold talks with the three banks on the possibilities for financing of regional roads and railway lines during the Western Balkan summit in Trieste, on July 12, Mihajlovic said in a video file posted on the website of the ministry on Tuesday.

Serbia has been in talks with the World Bank for financing the reconstruction of regional roads and railway lines for six months now and expects positive results in the autumn, Mihajlovic said.

In March, Mihajlovic said the construction of the Nis-Merdare-Pristina motorway was proposed by prime minister Aleksandar Vucic as part of the Berlin Process diplomatic initiative, which aims the improvement of the cooperation between Western Balkan countries.

The construction of the 77 km-long motorway, which is part of a project stretching to Albanian capital Tirana and the Adriatic port of Durres, is funded by the European Fund for the Balkans.

In September 2016, Mihajlovic said the Nis-Merdare-Pristina motorway is planned to be completed by 2020.

Prosek - Bancarevo, although finished, still hasn't been opened for traffic.
It is waiting for the bancarevo-c.reka section which cannot be completed before the 2nd half of 2019.

@Panchevo,
"bancarevo-c.reka section which cannot be completed before the 2nd half of 2019"

Are you sure not before 2019?

I thought by mid-late 2018 that entire section from Niš to Dimitrovgrad should be completed.
